What to do with my hair?

i'm really bored with my hair. it's pretty long (to the bottom of my boobs) and really dark brown. i have side bangs, but they're growing out and basically just cover up half my face completely.

i want to do something different with my hair, but i have no idea. my style is kind of alternative (i have facial piercings and whatnot) and i want something that suits me. i'm also very fond of my hair, so it would be great if i could keep it long, but still change it up. any ideas?

i don't have any pics but with your length...long layers with side swept bangs would be cute. you would keep your length too. maybe even add some highlights or chunks;)

well ive decided that my lip hair is bothering me so much i want to try to bleach it first and see if it looks ok. if that doesnt work well then ill consider waxing. but i have some questions. ok, what kind of facial bleach should i get that make my hair look not noticible and how many times will i have to do it? and for waxing when does the hair grow back and about how many years does it take for waxing the lip hair to pretty much not come back at all?

I recomend Jolen ive been using it for 2 years now and it works great. You just follow the really simple instructions it comes with. I do it about once every 3 weeks but you really just need to do it when you start noticing your hair again.

waxing is an option but my friends did it and i could easily tell cos the blad patch was quite noticible, a beautician told me it would take about 10 -20 years of waxing to stop the hair from growing back altogether but it would get gradually less and less every time u waxed. Hope i helped!

I think your haircolor is pretty the way it is. I wouldn't change it. Besides it will take a lot of lifting to get the dark pigment out. That's going to be really hard on your hair. If you do decide to go blonde, I would definitely go to a professional - don't try to do this yourself.

well your skin color has nothin to do with it. it just depends on what your face shape is. id rather have my hair short. i have an oval face though. if yours isnt oval then short may not be for you. a weave is always good. that way you can always change your hairstyle. cause once you cut it theres no goin back. your best bet is to go to a salon that does black peoples hair. they would know exactly what hairstyle looks good on you....thats their job anyway : )

I'm a white chicky and have frizzy hair that drives me nuts, lol. I have a round face shape and I had my hair cut into a bob and then use a straightening iron (flat iron) on it to make it look like I did something to it, rather than keeping it long and in a ponytail all the time. I only have to wash and straighten every second or third day too so it saves some time, lol.

It depends on how much time you have to do your hair in the mornings. Maybe you should go to a salon that specialises in African American hair, I know that your hair would be drier and you need special oils etc to keep your hair in good condition. Ask someone who knows.

Then again, in the end, I suggest that you really try doing a character that you like. Still I can understand wanting to look like the character, I am piccy in that factor too sometimes, but I won't do a character unless I really like them. I absolutely adore Yorouichi so she is fun to do. Sure I won't lie when I say that I purposely look for characters I might look like, but unless I really like them, I won't consider them, and I have also done character that aren't dark-skinned. Still like I said, I can undertand where you are coming from. If you are a competitive cosplayer, then I suppose you will really want to look "just" like your character. Still that doesn't make you wrong for doing someone you don't look like either. Think of how many girls crossplay! LOL! Even I do. So yeah, the most important part of cosplay is having fun ;)

I really love your hair! dying your hair can damage it so bad. Trust me, I know! But, if you're looking for a change, you might want to consider highlights, or a lighting solution called Sun In. You can find it at Wal Mart. I've also heard that you can put conditioner in your hair and lay out in the sun and it will lighten your hair. Lemon juice also works well as a lightener.

For the hair, leave it natural too. For a change let it grow a little longer, get layers, try different bangs...

But, i have a friend thats from haiti and she went to an african american hair dresser and her hair is WOW honestly, she got dark red and blond higlights all over, and she sort of got a perm, but not really, anyway its hard to explain but go to a hair dresser you know is good, and ask for their opinion, if you like what they suggest and think it would look good on you, go ahead! experiment!

Getting married in late August and was wondering what kind of facial cleansing rountine I should do?

Only got a couple of months to go! Right now I'm using nutragena (sp?) daily facial cleaner with microbeads, and then I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, and then I follow up with a toner, I don't exactly know what a toner is for but someone suggested that I use this routine, so I did without any questions, as in the past all I have done is just wash my hair. I'm not a girly girl more like a tomboy (grew up with boys) So far my face has been less dry than normal, but not exactly dry skin free and smooth. Normally if and when I put make up on it usually looks as if I have dry patches and the make up is darker in those patches than the rest of my face. I want to be blemish free on my big day as well. first of all dont use a bunch of stuff on it. drink lots of water and eat healthy foods...fish are the best. keep your face clean and clear of makeup as much as possible and that should help keep your face clear and looking good! if you use alot of different products on your skin, that will only damage the skin and cause it to dry out.

I'm absolutely clueless, so help! I have a small forehead (a "three-and-a-half-head" if you will...) and a round face. I'm also chubby. My normal texture for my hair is a mix between wavy and curly, it's thick and dry, and right now it's fairly long. I want something trendy, but not so short. I also don't mind styling it everyday. okay well i have wavy/ curly hair also and i actually wouldnt suggest layers. on those days where you dont style it, or get out of a pool and let it air dry, it doesnt look good. i wold suggest going long,and maybe layers but like really really unexaggerated layers. and getting bangs that are right below your eyes that you can out to the side. they are easy to style, (so even if your in a hurry you can do them) or you can clip them back and add a little poof and theyll look nice.

My hair is the same way, except longer. You need a good hair gel, like Biolage. Don't wash it every day, but do condition it every day, I use Paul Mitchell. You can also use bed head, they have this product in a green bottle which helps it be super straight. Don't use an iron to straighten your hair, use an Ionic blow dryer, and a large round brush, specifically for blow drying, dont use the ones with the wide metal bristles, use one with narrow ones.

1) Blow dry on warm with a round brush (a brush with vents!) - it will sleek and straight and minimize the poof

2) After you wash, condition and towel dry, divide your hair into 6-8 sections. Twist each section into a mini bun and secure with hair band or hairpins. Remove a few hours later - beautiful spiral curls. If you brush it out, you'll get a natural wave

3)Pony tail - make a straight part on one side of your head (experiment for the best look). Create a pony tail with about three quarters of your hair and secure at ear level. Gather the rest of your hair and combine it with the first pony. Secure at the nape of your neck.

why dont you try some frizz reducing serum while your hair is still wet. Always remeber the styling products, but dont overdo them. if you pull your hair back after a shower before you go to sleep you should wake up to less poofy hair. then just straighten it with a flat iorn. finish with shine sprey. Its not about any certain style its about the hair care in whole for it to look good. Playing with your hair and expierimenting with it is how your gunna learn what works and what dosent.

sounds just like my hair! the type of shampoo/conditioner you use can really help your hair be less poofy and more sleek. some good brands i've used are john frieda, biolage, and tressemme. a deep conditioner every week also works wonders- i use pantene pro v.

for styles, try scrunching your hair every once in a while- when it's wet, just use gel and let it air dry. this makes hair look less thick.

also try a half-ponytail. i use this style when my hair feels really thick, and it makes it look less so. with your pretty features i bet that would look cute.

one other thing if you know how to french braid pigtails would look really cute also!

darling. use bed head products if you have money. if you don't use infusium23 products. whatever you do, don't blow dry! it makes poofiness more...try brushing your hair BEFORE you shower and not after. if you can, try a fantastic sams or local barber and ask for a thinning. my hair was the exact same way then i let it grow and now it's not.

I live in a small town and I am only charged $12 for a hair cut and $9 for my son(Great Clips), how much of a tip should I be giving? Is there a percentage you go by? I usually tip about 25% or more depending on how happy I am with the results. Is that okay? The turnover is high, so they help many, many clients per day and they don't do coloring or facial waxing, just cuts and styling. I am a cosmetologist and I have done hair in allot of different states from Georgia, Colorado, New Jersey and allot of other places and the average tip is $5. We aren't paid that much AND as you can tell by allot of these postings, some only would consider giving about 15 percent at the most, a few dollars. We're not making allot of money from this.

If you have a person you go to regularly it is good to tip them $5... if you especially love your cut throw in an extra dollar or two. Cuts aren't very expensive and people OFTEN have an extra $20 in their pockets. But you see allot of people going out of the haircutting business because they aren't paid enough and they rely on their tips to feed their family's, especially after taxes are taken out. So when you do find that person who gives you that amazing haircut, hold on to them and make them your hairstylist, if you haven't found one already of coarse. So go ahead and tip that $5. After all $5 extra really isn't that much!

well if you are looking for a job, then i would hold back on the whole purple hair thing. maybe try dying it a different color than it is now (but still natural) or try some highlights. i know how you feel, i get really bored with my hair too, and people always tell me that it's different every time they see me! but you have to look at it from an employer's point of view if you are currently looking for employment. are they going to hire someone with purple hair or with a natural hair color. maybe get a job first, then ask your boss what the policy of colored hair is. some places actually have rules about unnatural hair colors.

my friend dyed her hair a deep purple blue and it lookd amazing. my advice is to make it deep... almost black. It looks especially beautiful this way, becuase in the light it looks purple-black with a purple sheen. Its not so alarming as bright purple, but it catches the eye. Go for it!

Only got a couple of months to go! Right now I'm using nutragena (sp?) daily facial cleaner with microbeads, and then I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, and then I follow up with a toner, I don't exactly know what a toner is for but someone suggested that I use this routine, so I did without any questions, as in the past all I have done is just wash my hair. I'm not a girly girl more like a tomboy (grew up with boys) So far my face has been less dry than normal, but not exactly dry skin free and smooth. Normally if and when I put make up on it usually looks as if I have dry patches and the make up is darker in those patches than the rest of my face. I want to be blemish free on my big day as well. Okay, so some people already say I kinda look cute, but I want to exceed expectations. How do I get flawless skin (I'm using AcneFree right now, and sometimes it doesn't work as well. And does saunas work?) , perfect hair (I just got a short new haircut, and i think I'm pretty happy with it. It kinda looks like Vanessa Anne Hudgen's hair, not intentionally though), and coordinating clothes. For the flawless skin thing, do you have any facial recipes?

flawless skins means strop stressing. also, as a woman,. the type of contraceptive you are taking may be the cause of your acne. try switching to dianette. if in uk though, i dont know us version. this pill is used mainly as an acne remedy but is also used as contraception. if that doesnt work or with it, use a facial scrub with beads in it. st ives do a good one for pretty cheap. or make your own. you can use normal face wash, but add some salt with it. be carefulk not to get in eyes. the little salt beads will gently exfoliate and also dry out spots.sauna will help but only by opening pores. remember to exfoliate and moisturise regularly and try to drink plenty of water to flush out your system

Really, you should just be yourself. If you try too hard it won't help. For the flawless skin thing, just try to keep yourself stress-free and above all, happy. Then perfect hair depends on whether your hair breaks easily, is too thin, is too straight or curly, etc. Buy shampoos and conditioners based on that. And contrasting clothes, IMHO, look better than coordinating. Try a watermelon-looking one, or sea, or something like that, again IMHO. But be yourself, more than anything else.

For your hair, i love hot oil treatments. It's also really good for the hair folicles. And it makes your hair look healthier and shinier. If you don't want to go buy a hot oil kit you can easily just pour some olive oil or canola oil in a cup or something, put the cup in a larger cup of boiling (or really hot ) water to heat it then when your in the shower after your usual shampoo + conditiuoning put the oil in your hair.

It's gonna sound super weird, but on a low budget, when I can't afford deep conditioner, mayo works. Yeah, it's weird, but mayo is like, 95 % oil, and I'm cheap, not thrifty, cheap. Also, for washing your face, i've found that regular everyday antibacterial hand wash is actually a really good exfoliator. I know I sound so like trash, but i could give a sh*t, if it works, it works, and nobody says ya gotta try it. :-) Maybe someone'll have a better idea for ya, but that's all I got.

I have a trip planned with someone special to me in 20 days. To prepare myself to look my best, I've worked out, changed my diet, done facial peels, had a treatment done on my hair, had it colored and trimmed. The works.

Now to tackle something about me I simply abhore. Body hair. Thanks to genetics I'm light skinned with black hair that I've always been really self-conscious of. I've always shaved...all over my body from nearly head to toe, and because this trip is 5 days in close quarters to someone I care about, I don't want to have to worry about something like that. What form of hair removal would be best for me? I know that due short time, I can only have one laser hair removal treatment that would help with the bumps on the back of my thighs and bottom. On the other hand I could just wax everything and still be able to tan (which I can't do with the laser stuff). But when I waxed before, I still had to shave almost the next day.

The latter two can do WONDERS for your face, and you shouldn't shave your pubic area anyway, so waxing is the best choice. Perhaps you can use some kind of depilatory cream (a.k.a Nair or Veet) on your legs, or even go to a nice place where you can get the whole body waxed. Just be prepared for the pain! For me, I've tried both waxing and threading, considering both causes pain, but I choose the latter one, it's conventional but it's free of irratation and it's much cheaper. I told the lady wanted numbing cream %26amp; she dident get it for me intell the secend time. she charged me 50.00 for it. even getting bits %26amp; peaces done. it looked a lot better overall.

Since you have wave to your hair try getting it cut all one length at your shoulder or just above. It will give you a new look. If you cut it to the shoulder you probably can put it in a pony tail and when you want to go for a fixed look your hair will probably lay so that it curls under easily. If not then you may have to go about an inch below. Because of the fact you have a perm too even though it is fadeing you can probably just wash it and go and it will look great. I usually get my hair about an inch below my shoulder so that I can either curl it under or wear a pony tail. I have very fine hair and also have to get it what they called tapered so I can curl my ends. Tapering is where they basically layer the ends but not the whole hair. Hope that this helps.

I recomend Jolen ive been using it for 2 years now and it works great. You just follow the really simple instructions it comes with. I do it about once every 3 weeks but you really just need to do it when you start noticing your hair again.

waxing is an option but my friends did it and i could easily tell cos the blad patch was quite noticible, a beautician told me it would take about 10 -20 years of waxing to stop the hair from growing back altogether but it would get gradually less and less every time u waxed. Hope i helped!

I am a hairdresser....If you have an oval face, just pick your favorite style and Go For It!!! Oval faces can wear anything and be attractive, so let the creative side come out....if you want to keep your length, try some choppy layers and frame your face with highlights. I guess age would need to play a part in it as well. If your in your teens, then go with the latest trends and make it your own, if your older, say 30ish or working in corporate

America, you would definitely want something more conservative, but my personal preference with oval faces and medium to long hair is obvious choppy layers.

Then again, in the end, I suggest that you really try doing a character that you like. Still I can understand wanting to look like the character, I am piccy in that factor too sometimes, but I won't do a character unless I really like them. I absolutely adore Yorouichi so she is fun to do. Sure I won't lie when I say that I purposely look for characters I might look like, but unless I really like them, I won't consider them, and I have also done character that aren't dark-skinned. Still like I said, I can undertand where you are coming from. If you are a competitive cosplayer, then I suppose you will really want to look "just" like your character. Still that doesn't make you wrong for doing someone you don't look like either. Think of how many girls crossplay! LOL! Even I do. So yeah, the most important part of cosplay is having fun ;)
